This is a great player out of the box. Everything worked great for me right away. It plays Blu-Rays as expected, upconverts DVD's and with a network connection it streams from Netflix, CinemaNow, and your home network. I didn't try or use wireless, my home is wired, so I can't comment on wireless. With the latest firmware it is even better, and there as a due-any-minute firmware update coming that will add Vudu streaming also.
