I have only had my LG BD390 for a few weeks, but I really like it. It does an excellent job of up-scaling dvd's to HD. It was easy to set up with my D-Link DIR-655 which by the way works great also. I did have to call LG and D-Link for assistance in setting my system up but both parties were very good at helping me. This was all new to me and had no knowledge of what to do.
I have joined Netflix (Reason I purchased the LG Bd390) and have streamed movies and it works perfect. So far I have had no problems. I was going to opt for the Blueray plan on Netflix, but regular DVD'S look so good I don't feel the need for the extra expense. Don't hesitate to buy the LG. I have a number of LG products in my home and they are all trouble free. Dish washer, Microwave, and LG LCD 1080p 47" flatscreen. I have always been a Sony fan,( all my TV'a have been Sony XBR's 4 total) but my son bought a Sony 37" XBR and my LG out performs it I think. Better picture and contrast. Just my opinion. I hope this helps in your decision. I took a long time and much research to make my decision. Purchasing my LG on Amazon saved me a lot of money. Amazon is a great place to buy products.
